During my time with O.N.E., I was able to develop my communication skills by working with various clients to manage and examine web analytics and plan/design web layouts. I was able to connect with clients of many businesses, and tailor their displays to their needs.
At my internship, I met the President of the company, Sherry Macias. I was in charge of editing and managing her organization's website through the use of wordpress. During this time, I have learned how to edit content, and appeal to certain target audiences with Elementor. I also taught myself to code with HTML/CSS and how to use JavaScript to add user interactivity. Some of the challenges I had to overcome were understanding the different properties of an element. I didn't understand what margin or padding was, or how I should properly lay out an element to be organized in a neater way. However, by learning how each element is programmed, I was able to organize the site in a way that appeared professional.
Working with Sherry required significant communication, and I had to make sure that I was able to complete the things she needed done, while also learning these new concepts. Because she didn't understand wordpress, I had to learn things on my own. However, she is skilled in marketing and taught me different concepts on how I should model the website. We were able to compile all of our ideas into a google doc, and after discussing how Sherry wants those ideas to be shown, I got to work on adding them.
